[0001] [0001] The present invention generally refers to the field of floor tiles with mechanical locking systems with a flexible and displaceable tongue. The invention also relates to a partially collapsible tongue for a construction plate with such a mechanical locking system. Background of the Invention
[0002] [0002] In particular, however in a non-restrictive manner, the invention relates to a tongue for a floor plate and a set of floor plates mechanically joined to preferably an oscillating floor. However, the invention is applicable to building boards in general as well. More particularly, the invention relates to the type of mechanical locking system comprising a flexible or partially flexible tongue and / or a movable tongue in order to facilitate the installation of structural building plates.
[0003] [0003] A floor plate of this type is presented in WO2006 / 043893, which describes a floor plate with a locking (locking) system comprising a locking element cooperating with a locking groove, for horizontal locking, and a flexible tongue cooperating with a tongue groove, for locking in a vertical direction. The flexible tongue, which can be made of plastic, flexes in the horizontal plane and is displaced in a groove when connecting with two floor plates. The flexible tongue allows the floor plates to be installed by vertical folding or only by vertical movement.
[0004] [0004] Flexible tabs are usually connected in a groove with friction connections. A disadvantage with such a connection is that the tongue may fall out of the groove when the floor plates expand or shrink or when the groove is not made with sufficient tolerances.
[0005] [0005] It is known that the tongue can be glued to the groove. The problem is that it is difficult to glue plastic to the wood and that part of the glue also sticks to the tongue in such a way that it cannot be displaced during connection of the floorboards. The present invention provides a simple way of gluing a flexible, displaceable tongue into a groove. Summary of the Invention
[0006] [0006] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a tongue that is easy to glue in a groove. Useful areas for the invention are floorboards, preferably to be installed oscillating, of any shape and material, for example, laminate, wood, HDF, veneer or stone. However, the invention is applicable to building boards in general.
[0007] [0007] The tongue can be used in any mechanical locking system that facilitates the assembly of the construction plates. The tongue can be used in the mechanical locking system for vertical locking of two adjacent floor plates. The locking system may further comprise additional elements for horizontal locking of the adjacent floor plates.
[0008] [0008] A first aspect of the invention is a tongue for connecting a building floor, said tongue is of an elongated shape and made of molded plastic. The tongue comprises protrusions, preferably arc-shaped, on a first long edge of the tongue. The protrusions are foldable in a plane parallel to the upper surface of the tongue and extending essentially in the parallel plane. The tongue has a second long edge, which is essentially linear over substantially the entire length of the tongue. The tongue comprises a viscous part configured to be glued in a groove on one edge of the floor of the building.
[0009] [0009] The viscous part may be a section of the edge, which is spaced in the direction of the length of the tongue from the protrusions.
[0010] [00010] The edge section can comprise a glue pouch.
[0011] [00011] The edge section can comprise a flexible connection that connects the edge section to the main body of the tongue.
[0012] [00012] The tongue can be provided with said edge sections on each edge of the tongue.
[0013] [00013] The advantage is that the edge sections are spaced from the main body of the tongue which is displaced during the lock. The risk of the glue being applied to the part of the groove where the tongue has to be moved is eliminated.
[0014] [00014] The edge section can be provided with a rupture part, configured to be broken when the tongue is inserted into the groove.
[0015] [00015] The edge section can be provided with an interruption part of the external protuberance, which overlaps the internal interruption part, which protrudes from the edge of the tongue, in which said internal and external interruption parts cooperate to limit the displacement of the tongue in the groove.
[0016] [00016] The edge section can be provided with a protruding friction connection, configured to keep the tongue in the correct position until the glue is cured.
[0017] [00017] The viscous part may be a sticky strip extending in the longitudinal direction of the tongue, preferably along substantially the entire length of the tongue, and where the sticky strip is coupled to an outer end of some of the protrusions.
[0018] [00018] The advantage with such an adhesive strip is that the tongue is firmly attached to the groove of the construction plate and with an improved position tolerance. It is also easier to provide the glue along the bottom of the groove, which is possible through this modality.
[0019] [00019] The outer end of the protuberances, on a first edge of the tongue, may be free and not attached to the adhesive strip.
[0020] [00020] The outer end of the protuberances, on a second edge of the tongue, can be attached to the adhesive strip.
[0021] [00021] The outer end of the protuberances can be provided with a thinner section to facilitate flexion of the protuberance.
[0022] [00022] The outer end of the adhesive strip can be provided with an arc-shaped part to facilitate the insertion of the tongue into the groove.
[0023] [00023] It can be an angle between the protrusions and the longitudinal direction of the tongue.
[0024] [00024] A second aspect of the invention is a construction plate provided with a tongue, according to the first aspect, in a groove laterally opened at the edge of the plate. Brief Description of Drawings
[0025] [00025] The description will be described below in connection with exemplary modalities and in more detail with reference to the attached exemplary drawings, in which:

[0033] [00033] Figure 8 shows the first edge section of the third modality.
[0034] [00034] Figure 9 shows the second edge section of the third modality. Description of the Modalities of the Invention
[0035] [00035] Figure 1 shows a vertical locking of two plates in which a flexible and displaceable tongue 1 is displaced in a fixing groove 1.
[0036] [00036] Figure 2 shows a first embodiment of a flexible tongue 1, made of molded plastic material, which comprises two sections of the edge 3, which are intended to be used to glue the tongue into a groove 2.
[0037] [00037] The tongue is elongated and in this preferred embodiment comprises at least two protuberances (6) on a first long edge (L1).
[0038] [00038] The protrusions are foldable in a plane parallel to the upper surface of the tongue and extends essentially in the parallel plane.
[0039] [00039] The tongue has a second long edge (L2), which is essentially linear over substantially the entire length of the tongue.
[0040] [00040] The edge section 3 comprises a glue pouch 4 to which the glue is applied, preferably by insertion equipment, which also positions the tongue in a groove in a plate. Friction connections 7 can be used to keep the tongue in the groove until the glue has cured.
[0041] [00041] Figure 3a shows the border section from above. Figure 3b shows a cross section of the edge section. A glue pouch 4 is preferably formed as a local cavity.
[0042] [00042] The edge section is connected to the main tongue body with a flexible connection 5 that allows the tongue to move in groove 2 and in relation to the edge section 3 that is glued in a groove 2. A wide variety of glues can be used, preferably melt-based adhesives.
[0043] [00043] Figure 4 shows a second modality of a flexible tongue 1, made of molded plastic material, which is provided with an adhesive strip 8 configured to be used to glue the tongue in a groove 2. Parts 11, 12 formed by molding of a molding tool are shown on the first edge 9 and the second edge 10 of the tongue 1. These parts are used to facilitate insertion of the tongue into a groove 2 of a construction plate, preferably a floor plate.
[0044] [00044] The tongue is elongated and comprises, in the second embodiment, at least two protuberances 6 on a first long edge L1.
[0045] [00045] The protrusions are foldable in a plane parallel to the upper surface of the tongue and extending essentially in the parallel plane.
[0046] [00046] The tongue has a second long edge L2, which is essentially linear over substantially the entire length of the tongue.
[0047] [00047] Figure 5 shows the first edge 9 of the second tongue modality. The outer ends 17 of the protrusions 6 on the first edge are free from the adhesive strip 8 to facilitate movement of the second long edge L2 along the groove 2 of the construction plate. The outer part of the adhesive strip is shaped like an arc 16 to facilitate the insertion of the tongue in the groove 2 of the construction plate.
[0048] [00048] Figure 6 shows the second edge 10 of the second embodiment of the tongue 1. The outer ends 18 of the protrusions 6 on the second edge are coupled to the adhesive strip 8. The external part 16 of the adhesive strip is arc-shaped to facilitate insertion of the tongue in groove 2 of the building plate.
[0049] [00049] The outer ends of the protrusions are provided with a thinner section 15 to improve the flexion of the tongue.
[0050] [00050] The adhesive strip is provided with a protuberance 13, which makes it easier to remove the tongue from the molding tool. The tongue body is provided with an opening 14 adapted to the size of the protuberance of the adhesive strip 13, which makes it possible to drive the second long edge L2 of the tongue 1 still within the groove 2 of the construction plate.
[0051] [00051] Figure 7 shows a third embodiment of a flexible tongue 1, made of molded plastic material, which is provided with an edge section 3 configured to be used to glue the tongue to the groove 2. The tongue has a second long edge L2 , which is essentially linear over substantially the entire length of the tongue. The tongue is elongated and comprises, in the second embodiment, at least two protuberances 6 on a first long edge L1.
[0052] [00052] The parts 11, 12 formed by the molding inlets of the molding tool are shown on the first edge 9 and the second edge 10 of the tongue 1. These parts are used to facilitate the insertion of the tongue into a groove 2 of a plate of construction, preferably a floor plate.
[0053] [00053] The protrusions are foldable in a plane parallel to the upper surface of the tongue and extend essentially in the parallel plane.
[0054] [00054] Figure 8 shows the first edge 9 of the third tongue modality.
[0055] [00055] Figure 9 shows the second edge 10 of the third modality of the tongue 1.
[0056] [00056] The third mode of the tongue is provided with said sections of edge 3 on each edge of the tongue. Said edge section is provided with a protrusion friction connection, configured to keep the tongue in the correct position until the glue is cured. A flexible connection 5 connects the edge section 3 to the main tongue body.
[0057] [00057] The edge sections are each provided with an interruption part of the external protrusion 22, which overlaps an internal interruption part 21, which protrudes from each edge 9, 10 of the tongue, in which said parts of internal and external interruption cooperate to limit the displacement of the tongue 1 in the groove 2.
[0058] [00058] The edge sections are further provided with a breaking part 20, configured to be interrupted when the tongue 1 is inserted into the groove 2.
[0059] [00059] Glue can be used that sticks to a wood based on the material and cures in such a way that a part of the glue will form a small protuberance in the glue pouch and connect the tongue mechanically even if the glue as such does not stick to the plastic material that is used to form the tongue.
[0060] [00060] The principles shown above can be used to connect all types of tongues that are intended to be movable in a groove. Even tongues that are not flexible and movable can be connected according to the principles described.
